Hi Geoff

Kindness in Celebration

July was a month of celebration as Knysna Sedgefield Hospice marked 40 years of compassionate palliative care with a memorable Gala Evening. For four decades, our Hospice has been a place of kindness, compassion and care, walking alongside patients and their families. The evening gave us the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the remarkable people who pioneered our organisation and laid its strong foundations, while also celebrating those who continue to carry their vision forward. It was an inspiring reminder that Hospice has always been, and will always be, about people caring for people.

Adding a Little Sparkle

One of the highlights of July was our special Christmas in July celebration for 41 of our patients. Hosted at the Anglican Church in Hornlee, the day was filled with warmth, laughter and festive cheer. Our dedicated Hospice staff lovingly prepared and served a delicious Christmas meal, creating a memorable occasion for everyone who attended. Sharing a meal, conversation and companionship is food for the soul, and it was a wonderful opportunity to remind our patients that they are valued, cared for and never alone.

Kindness from the Heart

As always, our thanks go to the dedicated staff and the many volunteers who make up the KSH family. It takes many generous hands and compassionate hearts to keep Hospice moving forward, with every act of kindness making a difference. Whether caring for patients, raising funds, offering practical support or simply giving their time, each person plays an invaluable role. Together, we continue to carry forward a legacy of kindness,  Seen in the pic the MPK team who refurbished our garden benches for Mandela Day. Facebook Video link here

We are spoilt!

We are incredibly honoured that the talented Grey High School Jazz Band will be presenting a spectacular fundraising concert in support of KSH on Saturday, 8 August at Freedom Church. While renowned for their outstanding jazz performances, these gifted young musicians are also accomplished classical performers. Three members—a trombonist, a French horn player and a trumpeter—were selected to attend the prestigious Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival, while the band's drummer recently won second prize in the SASMT Contemporary Music Competition. Their first trombonist has also been awarded a full educational scholarship by Vincent Mai in the United States, whose philanthropy also helped support Springbok captain Siya Kolisi's education. We are deeply grateful that these exceptional young musicians have chosen to share their talents in support of Hospice. Adults R100, scholars free. BOOKINGS: use Quicket, or pop in at the Hospice office, 24 Wilson Str, Hunters Home, WhatsApp 0824991177 or get tickets at the door.
